WaterFire Providence

Who We Are

Every lighting we do at WaterFire, whether it be a full, partial, or basin lighting, brings a unique experience that is personal to the individual visitor. Our volunteers are crucial in creating a vibrant atmosphere that resonates with the public. Volunteers are essential not only in creating the art that people come far and wide to see, but they also play a major role in fostering the sense of community that has welcomed our visitors for years. WaterFire is a complex production. There are many ways in which volunteers can help make WaterFire's vision for Providence a reality: assembling stars and luminaria, learning how to stack wood and preserve its dryness so the beauty of our fires last long throughout event nights, building braziers and feeding fires, plus so much more! We need a large staff on hand for preparation in the early morning, for the duration of the event, as well as for the breakdown of the event (or in WaterFire terms "strike") at the end of the night. We encourage you to get involved and join us as we showcase the hidden beauty of Providence through our WaterFire events!

What We Do

WaterFire Providence's mission is to inspire Providence and its visitors by revitalizing the urban experience, fostering community engagement, and creatively transforming the city by presenting WaterFire for all to enjoy.
